NFL Power Rankings Week 2

1. Green Bay Packers – Still unbeaten and now the defence are helping the offence out.

2. San Francisco 49ers – Some impressive performances from the 49ers in recent weeks and they should be one of the first teams to seal their divisional title.

3. New England Patriots – Weren’t at their greatest a couple of weeks ago but they normally come back strong after a bye week.

4. New Orleans Saints – This team’s offence is good enough to score points on anyone (Sunday night showed this) but the defence is still a worry.

5. Detroit Lions – The Lions need to find a running game and soon.

6. Pittsburgh Steelers – Big Ben looks to be holding this team together and the D is finally deciding to turn up.

7. Buffalo Bills – They will be delighted to host the Redskins in Toronto this weekend.

8. Baltimore Ravens – Losing to a poor Jacksonville will hurt.

9. New York Giants – The bye week will have done them a power of good and playing Miami will also help.

10. Cincinnati Bengals – Dalton looks good and the defence is still good enough to cause upsets in this league.

11. Houston Texans – The Texans need to find an identity on offence and stick to it. Foster is too good a player not to get 20 plus touches a game.

12. New York Jets – The defence produced the goods again against the Chargers but the offence will need to help out sooner or later.

13. Chicago Bears – Forte is the offence and so they better make sure he gets a new contract sooner rather than later.

14. Atlanta Falcons – The show glimpses of having a great offence but they need to start beating decent teams consistently.

15. San Diego Chargers – Yet again they find a way to lose a game they should have won.

16. Oakland Raiders – Looks like the running game might need to bail out the QBs for the rest of the season. Palmer needs to do better and quickly.

17. Dallas Cowboys – Does the performance of Murray mean the beginning of the end of Felix Jones?

18. Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Look like they need to work on a few things during the off season.

19. Tennessee Titans – Losing to the Texans could be a turning point for this team and not in a good way.

20. Cleveland Browns – Still lots of unanswered questions in Cleveland.

21. Washington Redskins – The wheels look like they are falling off the Redskins bus after losing to Carolina.

22. Philadelphia Eagles – Another must win game this weekend for the Eagles especially since it is against the Cowboys.

23. Jacksonville Jaguars – Good win against the Ravens and that should give this team hope.

24. Kansas City Chiefs – A good win for the Chiefs against Oakland but the performance of Cassel should still worry fans.

25. Carolina Panthers – Another win for Newton and each week he looks better and better.

26. Denver Broncos – Yea Tebow won a game but come on for most of it he was terrible.

27. Seattle Seahawks – The game against Cleveland could have been the worse ever.

28. Minnesota Vikings – Ponder looks good but was always going to struggle against a good Green Bay defence.

29. Arizona Cardinals – The Kolb deal looks worse and worse each week.

30. St Louis Rams – Looked their usual poor self against the Cowboys, not sure how much longer the management team will get in St Louis or even the team.

31. Indianapolis Colts – Probably the lowest Colts fans have felt in a long time.

32. Miami Dolphins – Sorry Losing to Denver in that way is not on.

Keep forgetting to post my predictions and power rankings for the NFL but have finally minded this weekend.

Seahawks @ Browns – Seahawks have looked ok lately and the Browns look awful the majority of time.
Bears @ Buccaneers – If this game was in Tampa I would fancy them but since it is London I think the Bears will sneak it.
Chargers @ Jets – The Jets are pretty awful at times and especially against any decent team their lack of offence shines through.
Falcons @ Lions – The Lions to get back on track against an indifferent Falcons team.
Texans @ Titans – The Titans are looking good and the Texans are trying to survive until Andre Johnson can get fit again. The Titans will sneak it at home.
Redskins @ Panthers – Everyone seems to be writing the Redskins off in this game and I’m not sure why. Personally I can see them winning and doing so by a few points. The defence is playing well and at the end of the day Newton is still only a rookie.
Broncos @ Dolphins – Tebow likes Florida and will be delighted to have his first start in comfortable surroundings. The Dolphins are rotten and will still be winless after this weekend.
Steelers @ Cardinals – Arizona are still struggling to gel and the Steelers should win this one.
Chiefs @ Raiders – The Raiders have given up a couple of big draft picks for Palmer and I’m not sure he is worth it. They will look particularly stupid if Boller comes out and has a good game against the Chiefs. Raiders to run all over Kansas City.
Rams @ Cowboys – Dallas will be glad to play the terrible Rams since it should get cover up their terrible season for another week.
Packers @ Vikings – Packers to win by 20 or more and look for the rookie QB to throw a couple of INTs.
Colts @ Saints – This should have been a big Sunday night game with two great QBs but sadly it will be a rout for the Saints since the Colts are struggling badly.
Ravens @ Jaguars (MNF) – The Ravens defence is looking as good as it did in their Super Bowl year and they will beat up this average Jacksonville team.

1. Green Bay Packers – Still unbeaten and still scoring a ton of points.

2. Detroit Lions – Fans must love the play from this team especially after 2 great comebacks.

3. Houston Texans – The main worry for fans will be how bad Andre Johnston’s injury is.

4. New Orleans Saints – This team’s offence is good enough to score points on anyone but the defence is still a worry.

5. New England Patriots – Rebounded well against the Raiders but the D still needs work.

6. Buffalo Bills – They will be kicking themselves after losing to the Bengals. They will need to rebound quickly.

7. Baltimore Ravens – The D is still good but Flacco looked awful against the Jets.

8. New York Giants – After opening day lose to the Redskins they have looked good.

9. Washington Redskins – The bye week will do them the power of good since there are still issues with this team.

10. Tennessee Titans – Pretty soon teams are going to stop worrying about the run and start pressuring the pass. CJ needs to start producing the goods.

11. San Diego Chargers – They try their hardest to lose every game but unlike previous years they are managing to win them.

12. San Francisco 49ers – They need to show the same commitment for the rest of the season as they did in the second half against the Eagles.

13. Tampa Bay Buccaneers – This young team keeps getting better

14. Atlanta Falcons – The show glimpses of having a great offence but they need to start beating decent teams.

15. Chicago Bears – Hester is just a joy to watch at full speed.

16. Oakland Raiders – Any team which can run the ball as well as they do should have a decent record at the end of the year.

17. New York Jets – O-line is brutal and the defence can only carry them so far against good teams.

18. Cleveland Browns – Hillis is the key to this team’s success.

19. Dallas Cowboys – This teams rises or falls at the hands of Romo.

20. Cincinnati Bengals – Dalton is learning quickly but in this tough division it will probably be a long season for Bengals fans.

21. Pittsburgh Steelers – O-line is simply the one of the worst in the league. Big Ben is going to pretty banged up by the end of the season.

22. Philadelphia Eagles – They act like the dream team but the biggest problem is they aren’t a team. Why pay loads for a CB like Asmougha when he can’t tackle.

23. Denver Broncos – Orton showed that he is still good enough to lead this team but the defence is still a work in progress. Von Miller showed he could be a star in this league.

24. Carolina Panthers – Newton is showing his potential and Steve Smith must be glad he once again has a QB that can actually hit him with a pass.

25. Arizona Cardinals – Kolb is looking good at times and pants at others (8 turnovers is way too much). The big problem is still the defence.

26. Seattle Seahawks – Even in a weak division they don’t look very good.

27. Kansas City Chiefs – Finally a win but not convinced by the offence, also never very good to see the QB and head coach shouting at each other on the sidelines.

28. Jacksonville Jaguars – Blaine Gabbert gives fans hope but it will be a long painful season ahead.

29. St Louis Rams – They tried hard against the Redskins but 17 points is a lot to overturn.

30. Indianapolis Colts – How long till they make a move for Palmer though Painter did look ok at times last night.

31. Minnesota Vikings – They have issues all over the place.

32. Miami Dolphins – There will be a new coach in Miami pretty soon I would guess.

Been a busy week this week and so I haven’t done much with regard the blog but here goes with the predictions for week 4 of the NFL.

Redskins @ Rams – St Louis have owned Washington the last few years but I feel that the Redskins will sneak this one.
Falcons @ Seahawks – Both teams are struggling but the Falcons are probably the more complete team so them to win.
Dolphins @ Chargers – You just know the Chargers will find a way to make this game close when really it shouldn’t be.
49ers @ Eagles – Vick and the Eagles to get back to winning ways.
Patriots @ Raiders – Patriots can’t stop anyone on defence and the Raiders can run the ball very well. Home win.
Vikings @ Chiefs – Two pants teams and so you have to go with the home win.
Saints @ Jaguars – Saints will rack up the points and Williams will have the defence blitzing like crazy.
Steelers @ Texans – I really fancy the Steelers here.
Lions @ Cowboys – Romo is still pants and the Lions defence will enjoy smashing him around.
Titans @ Browns – Another close game so you have to pick the home team.
Bills @ Bengals – Can see the Bills remaining unbeaten though the Bengals have been better than I thought they would be.
Panthers @ Bears – Bears to win by 10.
Jets @ Ravens – Flacco and the Ravens to sneak a close one.
Giants @ Cardinals – The Giants have been a hit or a miss this season and I’m going for miss tomorrow.
Colts @ Buccaneers – Tampa since the Colts are terrible.
Broncos @ Packers – Packers to win by 14.

Steelers @ Colts – Steelers should win this one comfortably.
Ravens @ Rams – Ravens to get back on track after the blip last weekend.
Cardinals @ Seahawks – Kolb and Fitzgerald will be looking forward to playing one of the worst teams in the NFL.
Chiefs @ Chargers – Chargers should get another win here.
Giants @ Eagles – Vick and the dream team take care of business. Don’t be fooled by last weeks result the Giants are pants.
Jets @ Raiders – I have a feeling this will be pretty close but Sanchez and the Jets to sneak the win.
Texans @ Saints – New Orleans should win this one
Lions @ Vikings – Lions have been playing well away from home and the Vikings are also pants.
Dolphins @ Browns – This could be pretty close but I’ll go for the home team.
49ers @ Bengals – Bengals to win again and Dalton to continue his fine form.
Packers @ Bears – Packers should get the victory and the defence will actually turn up this weekend.
Jaguars @ Panthers – Time for Cam Newton’s first NFL victory.
Patriots @ Bills – BIlls have been playing well but still aren’t good enough for the Pats.
Falcons @ Buccaneers – Falcons own the Bucs and this isn’t going to change on Sunday.
Broncos @ Titans – Close one again and so I’ll go home win.
Redskins @ Cowboys – The Redskins normally do ok against the Cowboys plus Romo is too banged up.

Honestly can’t see all those away teams winning but when you look at each game on merit they probably should.

Arsenal v Bolton – Interesting game since both teams are short of form and traditional Bolton give Arsenal a tough game. Going for a home win 2-1.

Chelsea v Swansea – Chelsea showed that they are still a good team last week even though they lost. Torres to score a couple and a home win 4 – 0.

Liverpool v Wolves – Liverpool need to get their season back on track after two poor results. The return of Gerrard should help, home win 3 -1.

Man City v Everton – Man City will be disappointed with throwing away a 2 goal lead last weekend and should bounce back strongly. Home win 3 -1.

Newcastle v Blackburn – Draw written all over this game with both teams still to show their full potential this season. Draw 1 – 1.

Norwich v Sunderland – Both had good wins last weekend and both will think they have a good chance of a victory. Home win 2 – 1.

QPR v Aston Villa – Two teams that are playing well and a bit of a surprise how well both have fared so far. Away win 1-2.

Stoke v Man Utd – Stoke had been playing really well up until last week when they feel apart at Sunderland. They showed come back strong against Man Utd and I can see them sneaking a draw. Not sure De Gea is going to enjoy this game very much. Draw 1-1.

West Brom v Fulham – Two really poor teams at the moment and I think this has the potential to end up a draw. Draw 1-1.

Wigan v Tottenham – Wigan will be looking for at least a point but think Spurs should sneak it. Away win 1-2.

1.Green BayPackers – Indifferent performance but a win is a win.
2.New England Patriots – They will need a running game at some point this season but it is fun to watch Brady throw.
3. NY Jets – They must hate the fact they are in the same division as the Patriots.
4. Houston Texans – Could this be the year?
5. Washington Redskins – Any team who is 2-0 deserves to be above teams at 1-1. At the end of the day results matter not potential.
6.Detroit Lions – See the Redskins.
7. Buffalo Bills – See the Redskins.
8. Pittsburgh Steelers – Much better performance this weekend and the Ravens getting beat helped them lots.
9. Philadelphia Eagles – Vick getting hurt is more of a concern than losing to the Falcons in Georgia Dome.
10. Baltimore Ravens – How do you beat the Steelers so well then put in that performance against the Titans.
11. New Orleans Saints – Offence is nearly as good as the Patriots.
12. Atlanta Falcons – Ryan at home is great but they need to sort the road form out.
13. San Diego Chargers – Defence is still the issue in San Diego.
14. Chicago Bears – Playing the Saints is hard in the Dome and it doesn’t get any easier this weekend against the Packers.
15. Oakland Raiders – Losing such a tight game in such dramatic circumstances will be hard for the team.
16. Tampa Bay Buccaneers – They need to start off games much better. They can’t give the Saints and Falcons a 21 point start and expect to beat them.
17. Dallas Cowboys – Romo is still indifferent and I’m not sure what he offers this offence that Kitna doesn’t.
18. Arizona Cardinals – Kolb and Fitzgerald should be enough to worry any team but the defence is a concern.
19. NY Giants – Yea they won but it was hardly convincing.
20. Cleveland Browns – Recipe for success if lots of Hillis and a little McCoy.
21. St Louis Rams – They will be disappointed to lose against a poor Giants team.
22. Cincinnati Bengals –Daltonlooks good so far.
23. San Francisco 49ers – Another .500 season at best in San Francisco. If they were in a decent division they would be lucky to get to that.
24. Denver Broncos – Really not clicking at the moment for them.
25. Jacksonville Jaguars – Let’s not say too much about the first half performance.
26. Tennessee Titans – Good win against a strong team will give them hope.
27. Carolina Panthers –Newtonshows he can read defences and he should have a good season.
28. Minnesota Vikings – McNabb is not the answer at QB.
29. Miami Dolphins – Too many problems to list.
30. Indianapolis Colts – See above
31. Seattle Seahawks – See the Dolphins
32. Kansas City Chiefs – Losing to the Lions that badly is a concern.

Forgot to do my EPL predictions for yesterdays games but luckily there is a few on today plus we have the NFL later on in the evening.

EPL Predictions

Tottenham vs Liverpool – Liverpool played Stoke off the park last weekend but failed to score and in this league that isn’t good enough. Look for them to bounce back against an average Spurs team with a 2-1 victory. Score 1-2

Fulham vs Man City – Fulham are really struggling at the moment whereas Man City look like they could score 4 each week in the EPL. After a disappointing Champions League debut I think Man City will come back strong today. Score 0 – 4

Sunderland vs Stoke – Not sure how pretty a game this will be to watch but look for Stoke to have a similar performance as they did against Liverpool and Kiev. Sunderland just aren’t as good as everyone things they are and I think Stoke win this by a couple. Score 0 – 2

Man Utd vs Chelsea – The big game of the weekend in England and Chelsea might already see this as must win game. Look for Torres to give the ropey Man Utd back 4 a hard time and Chelsea to sneak a win. Score 0 – 1

Rangers vs Celtic – One other big game this weekend is the Old Firm derby in Scotland. Both teams are pretty poor this season and this could lead to an exciting championship race. Traditional these games are close and I think this could end up a draw. Score 1 – 1 with each team getting a red card.

NFL Predictions Week 2

SEA @ PIT – Steelers to win easily since they will have practiced hard all week after getting hammered by the Ravens.

OAK@BUF – The Bills will look to continue their fine form from last weekend and it is very rare for a West coast team to win on the Eats coast. So taking that into consideration I think the Bills win again.

ARI@WAS –Washington showed that they have the defence and the QB to be competitive in the NFL but they need to perform like that for more than one week. Arizona struggled by the Panthers last weekend and the secondary gave up a pile of yards, therefore going for a Redskins win.

TB@MIN –TampaBay should get past a very poor Vikings team. From last weeks performance I would say that McNabb is officially done.

JAC@NYJ – The Jets got lucky on Sunday night football against the Cowboys and they need to improve this weekend. Revis is unlikely to be a huge factor since the Jaguars will run the ball much more than they throw it. Jets to win by 6.

CHI@NO – The Saints looked good on offence last week but terrible on defence. Williams will have had the D training hard all week and they should come with lots of blitz’s to try and fool Cutler. Saints to win.

GB@CAR – A great start to the season for the defending champs and the number draft pick last week. Though this timeNewton will be facing a much better defence thanArizona’s. Green Bay should win by 10 or more and I can see the defence having at least a couple of picks.

BAL@TEN – Probably the performance of week 1 from the Ravens and they should breeze by a poor Titans team.

KC@DET – Time to see if the Lions are for real since this is the first time they have been favourites for a long time. The Chiefs will be much better than last week but unlikely to be good enough.

CLE@IND – Without Manning the Colts aren’t even average, Browns to run all over them.

DAL@SF – Cowboys and Romo to bounce back with a victory against the 49ers.

CIN@DEN – Broncos should sneak through this one but it will be close.

SD@NE – This is the game of the week and should produce lots and lots of offence yards. Brady will do his usual and throw another 3 or 4 TDs.

HOU@MIA – The Texans will be looking to start 2-0 against the pants Dolphins.

PHI@ATL – Vick returns toAtlanta with his dream team, mean while the Falcons look like a team that aren’t sure of what they should do (run or pass). Falcons to shock everyone with a win.

STL@NYG – The Rams to sneak a poor game that will have everyone wondering how they even made this a MNF game.

1. Green Bay Packers – The victory against New Orleans showed that the offence is superb but that the defence still has some work to get back to last year’s form.

2. Baltimore Ravens – A victory like they recorded over the Steelers highlighted the potential of this team. Now they need to live up to that potential.

3. New England Patriots – Brady just puts up more big numbers and manages to hit every receiver in the team while doing it. LikeGreen Bay the defence gave up a lot of yards except it was to Chad Henne and not Drew Brees.

4. Philadelphia Eagles – The offence looked good but the defence worries me at times.

5. Chicago Bears – Their win against the Falcons was one of the biggest surprises of the weekend.

6. New Orleans Saints – Losing to Rodgers and that offence is not a disgrace.

7. Pittsburgh Steelers – They will be hurting after that lose to the Ravens.

8. New York Jets – Sanchez still doesn’t inspire me.

9. San Diego Chargers – Did everyone skip special teams practice again?

10. Houston Texans – The Texans need to make the playoffs this year or they are going to have a new coach next year.

11. Oakland Raiders – Their great divisional record just keeps on happening.

12. Atlanta Falcons – Another poor performance and they need to get back to winning ways soon.

13. Washington Redskins – Rex Grossman doesn’t sound as crazy as he did last week.

14. Detroit Lions – With a healthy QB they could make the playoffs.

15. Arizona Cardinals – A win in Kolb first game will do wonders to his and the teams confidence.

16. Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Losing to the Lions is not a good sign especially in their division.

17. Buffalo Bills – Not sure the Bills are getting the credit they deserve after last weeks victory.

18. Jacksonville Jaguars – Maybe losing Garrard wasn’t such a mistake as everyone said.

19. Dallas Cowboys – Romo still keeps making stupid mistakes.

20. San Francisco 49ers – Yes they won and yes it was a divisional game but the offence is still pants.

21. New York Giants – Manning really needs to find a go to receiver since half the offence dropped a pass on Sunday.

22. Kansas City Chiefs – The offence did nothing and the defence looked lost withoutBerry at safety.

23. Cincinnati Bengals – A good win for the Bengals and hopefully this should give them confidence for the rest of the season.

24. Carolina Panthers – Cam Newton showed Panthers fans that he might just be the answer at QB.

25. Minnesota Vikings – McNabb might officially be finished after his showing in last week’s game.

26. St Louis Rams – Yet again Steven Jackson gets injured.

27. Denver Broncos – If you can’t win divisional home games then you are going to struggle all season. Only a matter of time till the crowd want Tebow.

28. Miami Dolphins – Another big lose to the Patriots means this is likely to be a long season forMiami fans.

29. Tennessee Titans –Johnston wants to be paid like a star then he needs to start performing like a star.

30. Seattle Seahawks – Special teams are so important in the NFL but maybe they don’t like to practice it on the west coast.

31. Cleveland Browns – Losing to the Bengals doesn’t really inspire anyone but they should get their first win next week against the Colts.

32. Indianapolis Colts – Sorry but without Peyton Manning this team has no chance. You have to wonder how long Collins can last in the starting job.

Arsenal – Swansea
The Gnners are getting stronger and this game will give their new signings a chance to settle in wihout too much pressure. Score 3 – 0

Everton – Aston Villa
Everton fans aren’t happy with things at the club and a demo is scheduled for tomorrow. It is sad to see such a big club struggling to make any moves in the transfer market and losing big players to rival clubs. This game has a draw written all over it. Score 1 – 1

Man City – Wigan
City will be looking to continue their fine form before the International break and should be looking to score a few past a fairly weak Wigan team. Score 5 – 1

Stoke – Liverpool
A big test for Liverpool but I think their form will be good enough to beat Stoke. Stoke are built to cope with players like Carroll but not so sure they can cope with Suarez. Score 1 – 2

Sunderland – Chelsea
Big predictions for this weekend is that Torres will score and might even grab a couple. Sunderland haven’t been that good this season and I don’t think they’ll get a result here. Score 0 – 3

Wolves – Spurs
Wolves have been playing well and Tottenham were well beat the last time against Man City. Add in the fact the Van Der Vaart is out injured and I can see them struggling again in this game. Score 1 -1

Bolton – Man Utd
The start of the season isn’t getting any easier for Bolton and after there performance against Liverpool I can see them conceding a few more goals this weekend. Score 0 – 4

Norwich – West Brom
Norwich have proved to be tough to beat and they will be looking at games like this one to pick up vital points. West Brom will be hoping for a victory but I think this is another draw. Score 1 -1

Fulham – Blackburn
Two managers who will be praying for a win to get their season going but like the game above I have this one down as a draw. Score 0 – 0

QPR – Newcastle
The only certainty in this game is that Barton will get booked at the very least. He’ll try to hard to show Newcastle fans what they have lost and will end up having a rubbish game. Yet another draw in my eyes. Score 1 – 1
